SYLLABUS -OF -LIFE™

1. The Education We Never Received

There was a time when I believed that if I studied hard enough, worked hard enough, and collected enough qualifications, life would eventually make sense.

So I did exactly what society tells us to do.

I invested in education. I earned degrees. I developed professional skills. I spent years learning how to build a career, solve problems, and succeed in environments that rewarded knowledge.

On paper, I had done everything right.

Yet life has a way of asking questions that no qualification can answer.

No university prepared me for disappointment. No textbook explained how to rebuild my confidence after life didn't go according to plan. No lecturer taught me how to make decisions when my heart and my head were pulling me in different directions. No exam prepared me for balancing ambition with responsibility. No course showed me how to care for others without forgetting myself.

Some of the most important lessons I have ever learned did not come from a classroom. They came from living.

Over the years, I realised something that completely changed the way I looked at education.

We teach people how to pass examinations. We teach people how to qualify for professions. We teach people how to earn a living. But very few people are taught how to build a life.

Nobody hands us a guide explaining how to discover who we really are. Nobody teaches us how to make decisions that align with our values. Nobody teaches us how to navigate relationships, setbacks, uncertainty, purpose, confidence, money, wellbeing, or personal fulfilment. Yet these are the very things that determine the quality of our lives.

I began asking myself a simple question.

What if life had its own curriculum?

Not a curriculum designed to prepare us for employment. A curriculum designed to prepare us for living. A curriculum that helped us understand ourselves before asking us to understand the world. A curriculum that taught us how to think before telling us what to think. A curriculum that recognised success isn't measured only by income, job titles, or achievements, but by the alignment between who we are and the life we choose to build.

That question became an obsession.

The more I reflected, the more I realised that every challenge I had faced belonged to a subject nobody had ever taught me.

Identity. Purpose. Relationships. Confidence. Money. Health. Business. Resilience. Leadership. Self-awareness.

None of these were optional. They were the real examinations of life. And unlike school, there were no model answers. Every lesson had to be lived. Every mistake became a teacher. Every setback became an opportunity to grow.

That realisation became the foundation of everything I do today.

It is why I wrote You Call The Shots™. It is why I developed the C.S.C.A.D. Framework™. It is why I created Self Action Circle™.

Because I no longer believe people simply need more information. I believe they need an education that helps them understand themselves first.

Clarity before strategy. Awareness before action. Purpose before achievement.

Success without self-awareness often leaves people feeling empty. Achievement without alignment can still feel like failure.

I believe there is another way. I believe every person deserves the opportunity to study the subjects that matter most — not simply to make a living, but to build a meaningful life.

That is why I call it The Syllabus of Life™.

Because the greatest qualification any of us will ever earn is not a certificate hanging on a wall. It is becoming the person we were created to be.

And perhaps the most important lesson of all is this:

Life is not asking whether you've passed your exams. It is asking whether you've learned its lessons.

This is your invitation to begin studying the subject that matters most. Your own life.

2. The Day I Realised Success Wasn't Enough

I have degrees in law, pharmacy, and business. Decades of learning, building, achieving.

I built businesses. Had setbacks. Started again. I raised my children — including my autistic son — and navigated the breakdown of my marriage. I reinvented myself after decades in professional careers. I'd been through things that were life-changing before. I usually just numbed myself and got on with it — that's what I knew how to do.

But there was one moment that broke through the numbness completely.

My son had been diagnosed, and the school he was in told me they could no longer support him. He needed to move. And something about that day — the helplessness of it, the aloneness — hit me in a way nothing else had. I couldn't just push through it this time. I felt it. All of it.

I went home that night, sat down at my computer, and typed something like: there has to be a better way. Why did this hurt so much? Why did I feel this alone?

What came up were names I didn't expect — Tony Robbins, and someone talking about how breathing was everything. It felt almost too simple to matter. But something about it cracked something open in me.

That was the beginning of my awareness journey. Not a grand realisation — just a mother, at her computer, exhausted and searching, because the classroom had never taught me how to survive this.

I stopped asking "what's next" and started asking a much harder question: who am I now?

Turns out, success was never the thing I was missing. Alignment was.

That day was the beginning of my awareness journey. Not the answer — just the start of asking better questions.

3. The Missing Subject: The Syllabus of Life™

Life doesn't come with a manual. Yet we're expected to already know how to:

  • Build relationships that last

  • Manage money wisely

  • Understand ourselves

  • Choose the right career

  • Look after our wellbeing

  • Build a business

  • Make good decisions

No one teaches this. There's no exam, no certificate, no classroom for any of it. We're just expected to figure it out — usually the hard way, usually alone.

That's the missing subject. That's the Syllabus of Life™ — and it's the thing I've spent years since that day learning, the hard way, so you don't have to.

4. Why Most People Feel Stuck

It's not because they're lazy. It's not because they lack ambition.

It's because they were never taught how to do the things that actually matter most.

We spend years in school learning subjects we'll rarely use again — but no one sits us down and teaches us how to understand ourselves, how to make decisions we won't regret, how to build a business without losing ourselves in it, how to know who we are outside of a job title or a role.

So we do what we were taught to do: we achieve. We collect qualifications, promotions, titles, businesses. We assume the stuckness will lift once we hit the next goal.

But it doesn't. Because the stuckness was never about not achieving enough. It was about never being taught the things that were actually missing — the Syllabus of Life.

Most people aren't stuck because something is wrong with them. They're stuck because they're missing a syllabus nobody ever gave them.

5. The Seven Subjects Every Person Should Learn

(plus one bonus: Legacy)

1. Personal Identity — Discovering Your True Self Reflecting on the question: Who am I?

2. Relationships — Building Meaningful Bonds Defining the type of relationships you desire with family, friends, colleagues, and your wider network — including your "Love List," a clear picture of the companionship and connection you actually want, not just what you've settled for.

3. Personal Growth and Development — Cultivating Your Potential Nurturing your education and self-development journey, beyond what any classroom ever offered.

4. Financial Goals — From Aspirations to Stability and Beyond Setting real financial goals, building stability, and exploring how to grow what you have.

5. Physical Well-being — Nurturing Your Body and Self-Care Health, movement, and the self-care practices that keep you functioning — not as an afterthought, but as a foundation.

6. Career and Business Goals — Aspiring for Professional Excellence Pursuing your ambitions in work and business, on your own terms.

7. Spiritual and Emotional Intelligence — Finding Harmony Within and Beyond Cultivating emotional intelligence and exploring your relationship with something greater than yourself.

Bonus Subject: LegacyWhat you leave behind — for your family, your community, and the world.

6. Awareness Before Action

Most people skip straight to fixing. New goals, new habits, new five-year plan — action first, always action first.

I know, because that's exactly how I lived for years.

I did what I believed was expected of me. Get the degrees. Build the career. Then another one. Then a business. I never stopped to ask if I actually wanted any of it, or if I even had a choice in the matter — I just assumed this was the path, so I walked it. Achievement after achievement, without ever once questioning whether I was building a life I actually wanted, or just the one I thought I was supposed to want.

That's what action without awareness looks like. It might look like progress. It might even feel like progress, for a while. But if you don't know who you are underneath it, you'll keep rebuilding the same life with a different coat of paint.

That's what I learned the hard way — sitting at my computer that night, searching for a better way. I didn't need another goal. I needed to understand myself first, and realise that I'd had a choice all along.

Awareness is what makes action mean something. It's the difference between reacting to your life and actually building it on purpose.

That's why the work always starts here — not with a to-do list, but with the question underneath it: who am I, and what do I actually want?

Because once you have that... the action finally has somewhere to go.

7. Why Clarity Changes Everything

Once I stopped running on autopilot, everything shifted. Not because my circumstances changed overnight — they didn't. My son still needed the right support. The marriage was still over. Life was still life.

What changed was me. I finally understood what I actually wanted, instead of what I thought I was supposed to want.

That's what clarity does. It doesn't remove the hard things — but it changes how you move through them. Decisions that used to paralyse you become obvious. Doors that used to feel locked turn out to have been open the whole time — you just couldn't see them clearly enough to walk through.

Without clarity, you're guessing. You're reacting. Someone — or something — else is calling the shots in your life, even if it doesn't feel that way.

With clarity, that changes. You finally know what you're deciding for — and for the first time, you call the shots.

That's why clarity changes everything. Not because it solves your problems, but because it shows you which problems are actually worth solving — and hands the pen back to you, so you're finally the one writing the story.

8. From Survival to Intentional Living

For years, I lived in survival mode without even realising it. Getting through the day was the win. Numbing the hard feelings, pushing forward, achieving the next thing — not because I wanted to, but because stopping felt more dangerous than continuing.

Part of that survival mode was people-pleasing. I said yes when I meant no. I gave my time and energy to whoever asked for it, because I didn't know how to set a standard, or even that I was allowed to. I didn't understand boundaries — not really. I just knew that saying no felt riskier than staying quiet and getting on with it.

Survival mode looks like success from the outside. You can build businesses in it. You can raise children in it. You can hold everything together in it — for a long time, while quietly running on empty because you never learned it was okay to protect your own time. But it's not the same as living.

Intentional living is different. It's not about doing more, or achieving more, or pushing harder. It's about finally choosing — on purpose, with clarity — instead of just reacting to whatever the day throws at you, or whoever asks something of you.

The shift from survival to intentional living doesn't happen because life gets easier. Mine didn't. It happens because you finally know who you are underneath it all — including what you will and won't accept — and you start making decisions from that place instead of from fear, obligation, or autopilot.

That's the shift I made. And it's the same shift I now help others make — moving from simply getting through life, to actually building the one they want.

9. The C.S.C.A.D. Way

Everything I've shared so far — the autopilot living, the people-pleasing, the moment that cracked me open, the years of searching — led me here. To a framework. A way of walking through the Syllabus of Life, one deliberate step at a time.

I call it The C.S.C.A.D. Way.

C — Clarity (COMPASS) Before anything else, you need to know who you are and what you actually want — your values, your vision, your true north. This is where every lasting change begins.

S — Strategy Clarity without a plan is just a nice feeling. Strategy turns your vision into a real, workable path forward — priorities, resources, and a timeline you can actually follow.

C — Confidence (TRUST & BELIEVE) A plan means nothing if you don't trust yourself enough to follow it. This is where you build the self-trust and belief to act — even when it's uncertain, even when it's uncomfortable.

A — Action This is where it becomes real. Not perfect action. Not someday action. Consistent, intentional steps that move you from planning to actually building the life you said you wanted.

D — Development (HARMONY) Because a business without a life isn't success — it's just a different kind of survival. This is where you grow across every area that matters: identity, relationships, finances, health, career, spirit, and renewal — in harmony, not at each other's expense.

Five letters. One way of finally living life on purpose — instead of by accident.

This is how you go from reacting to creating. From surviving to intentional. From someone else calling the shots... to you calling the shots.

10. Your Invitation to Call the Shots

The Choice Is Yours

You've spent decades learning. Degrees, careers, businesses, relationships, setbacks, and starting again. And somewhere in all of it, you've probably had your own version of that day — the one where you looked around at everything you'd built and felt the same thing I did: this can't be all there is.

Maybe you're still in survival mode and don't fully realise it yet. Maybe you're people-pleasing your way through a life that looks fine from the outside. Maybe you're achieving everything you were "supposed to," without ever stopping to ask if you actually chose it.

Here's what I want you to know: you have a choice. You always did.

You don't have to wait for your own pivotal moment to make the shift. You don't have to hit rock bottom, lose a marriage, or sit alone at your computer at midnight searching for a better way. I've already walked that path — so you don't have to walk it blind.

The C.S.C.A.D. Way is the map I wish someone had handed me that night. Clarity. Strategy. Confidence. Action. Development. Not another five-year plan built on autopilot — a way of finally living life on purpose.

It starts with one step: getting clear on who you are, and what you actually want.

That's exactly what the You Call The Shots™ Alignment Starter Kit is built to do — hand you the pen, and help you start writing the life you actually want, instead of the one you assumed you were supposed to have.

You've spent long enough letting life call the shots.

It's time you did.
